WE GATHERED IN JOHANNESBURG FOR THE 21ST CONGRESS OF THE WHC, HOSTED BY SANHA, WHICH WILL CELEBRATE ITS 26TH ANNIVERSARY.

The World Halal Council (WHC) will hold its 21st Annual General Assembly from November 12-14, 2025, at Qurtuba Hospitality in the Sandton district of Johannesburg, South Africa. The meeting will be preceded by a Board of Directors Meeting on November 11.

The main topics of this year’s meeting will be to promote information sharing and collaboration among member institutions and to accelerate efforts to raise awareness and confidence in Halal certification. The importance of standardization in Halal certification will be emphasized, with particular emphasis on raising consumer awareness of the certificate and its issuing institution. The meeting will conclude with the evaluation of new membership applications.

Following this, the H20 sessions will be held from November 15-17, hosted by BPJPH, Indonesia’s sole Halal certification authority. These meetings will include an exchange of information on BPJPH’s current policies and new initiatives.
