Membership of Europäisches Halal Zertifizierungsinstitut (EHZ) from World Halal Council has been suspended as of today. The decision is based on evidence that showed continued practice of acceptance of gas stunning (cas stunning) by Europäisches Halal Zertifizierungsinstitut (EHZ). As it was unanimously agreed and accepted before, World Halal Council (WHC) does not allow gas stunning and as reliable umbrella organization of Halal certifiers worldwide, WHC is dedicated to protect the rights of Muslims, and we are not in a position to tolerate any exploitation by any member.
