GIMDES International Relations Coordinator Mr. M. Zafer GEDİKLİ was in Malaysia and Indonesi to attend the 9TH halal Certification bodies’ convention 2018, mid-year executive members of World Halal Council, MİHAS The Malaysia International Halal Showcase and visiting MUI in Indonesi during period from 31 March to 5 April 2018.

The program was as the following:
31 March to 3 April 2018: 9TH halal Certification bodies convention and International Halal Authority Board (IHAB)
4 April 2018: mid-year executive members of WHC
5 April 2018: MUI visit.
The first two days meeting summary:
The JAKIM, who has been working continuously for 25 years, chose the slogan “Halal: Connecting the World”, which is the main theme of the year, to bring the world to Halal.
Philosophy and working methods of JAKIM’s association become mature, they are preparing many Halal standards, and these standards are applied by 69 document institutions in 42 countries as well as Malaysia. Malaysia will be now a model for other countries in Halal field, and at the same they are working for increase the public awareness and protecting the rights of Muslims in Malaysia.
At the same time, JAKIM gave importance to R & D activities and working for educating students and academicians who will work on Halal in both governmental and private universities.
They are planning to establish a researcher’s center for academic studies on halal food.
In doing so, he plans to open up all academic studies on halal and food in the world to the center of researchers.
One of the most important innovations of this year is that Halal Medical Device (syringe, suture, surgical device, glove, and disposable auxiliary tools etc) and halal medicines have been officially started to work with support of the government. In this context JAKIM will review the related literature and prepare halal medical device and halal medicine standards.
On the other hand, various private companies have prepared and introduced new applications for mobiles and computers in Halal.
Additionally our delegation visit the embassy in Malaysia to send greetings and wishes for success to the new Ambassador Mrs. Merve KAVAKÇI which has been recently appointed. Dr. Yusuf Ziya KAVAKÇI who is member of GIMDES fıqh committee attend the meeting.
